It is a neat place to visit, especially when they have activities going on. I made a bamboo coaster that I still have to this day from 9 years ago. It's not too expensive to get in and they have parking. It's also a great place to go with family, as we did.

Wonderful open air museum with 19th century Eto-period shops, homes, and farms. English speaking guide gave my wife and I a wonderful tour.

This is a delightful open-air historical museum. The entrance fee is minimal (free if over 65) and the fees for some activities are also very negligible. If you don't take part in any of the additional activities such as experiencing a tea ceremony, making paper or making an original notepad, there are still so many things to see and experience. I spent over three hours here - including eating lunch at a nice covered pavilion. Even though I went on a national holiday it was very quiet and did not feel crowded at all. As this place is accessible by bus, I recommend it for anyone who has extra time in the Narita area. You can even dress in kimono during your time in the museum!

Normally I would not give 5 stars as most of the exhibits are only explained in Japanese, but this place is so exceptional in its scope ! Many hands on activities for kids. Only had 2 hours, which was not enough. Recreations of farms, stores and houses from 100 years ago and older. Free admission for seniors and young children.
