With annual festival to be held in the main hall of the Makata Jinja (Makata Shrine) as a start, a bright long party parades around the clothes including a Shinto shrine, Sakaki, a mikoshi, a drum, the festival car for the torii bank of a river of the shore of Lake Imba. A lion dance and a man with a clownish mask dance are shown on the torii side. (Sunday holding last than 2007 in July.)

Pretty grounds with very large old cedar trees, however main shrine is closed off for reconstruction until November 2017 so I cannot comment on the shrine itself.
交通量の多い道路が近い割には、沢山生えている木のせいか、なんだか静かなところです。宗吾参道駅で降りて、義民ロードなる散策向きの安全な道を、景色を楽しみながら行きましょう。昔は人家がなかったのですが、近くにニュータウン的なものが造成されてきたのかほんとに田んぼと、台地(山とは言えない高さなので)しかなかったのが、最近は、だいぶ変わってはしまいましたが…
東日本一と表示の大杉がある。空と繋がっているような、神々しいと呼べる杉。
本殿の左側に行くと、東日本一の大杉があります。大杉は一周できるようになってます。御朱印が貰える15日に行きました。静かで落ち着いた神社です。
緑の深い神社です。大杉がほんとに見事で、気がついたら口開けて見いってましたw
