Tako Town expressed gratitude for the Kuriyama River, which has nurtured life and culture, and planted about 10,000 hydrangeas on the bank of the river and completed the promenade in 1980.
The "Furusato Tako Town Hydrangea Festival", which is held around the time when colorful hydrangeas bloom in purple, white, and light red, is visited by many tourists from inside and outside the prefecture every year.
