Shibayama-cho is known as “Haniwa-no-machi”, which is dotted with about 500 old tombs, including the historic site “Tonozuka / Himezuka”.
At the Haniwa Festival, 57 people, including elementary and junior high school students, dressed as ancient people appear in Tonozuka and Himezuka. After that, ceremonies and parades are held at Shibayama Niohson and Shibayama Park in the town, and finally the ancient people ascend with a message to the modern people. It is a festival with an ancient scent, such as the dance of a godly shrine maiden and ancient costumes that have been faithfully restored. On the day, industrial festivals, cultural festivals, and commercial and industrial festivals will be held at the same time.
