Special features of experiences and activities at Naritasan Omotesando!

Naritasan Omotesando, which runs from Narita Station to Naritasan Shinshoji Temple. Of course you can enjoy strolling and shopping, but did you know that it also offers a variety of experiences and activities?
In this issue, we would like to introduce you to some of the experiences that you should definitely try if you come to Naritasan Omotesando!

Small-Size Bow "Han-Kyu"(Japanese archery "Kyudo" experience)

"Han-Kyu" is an easier way to enjoy the traditional Japanese martial art of Kyudo. The distance to the target is half the distance of a regular Kyudo range.
While standing up to shoot a bow is the normal way of Kyudo, in the "Han-Kyu", the player sits and shoots the bow. It is possible for everyone to experience it sitting in a row, and you can easily enjoy it while strolling along Omotesando.

Aroma of Japan for you (Japanese cultural experience)

This is an experience for foreigners. In order to introduce Japanese culture to foreigners as much as possible, we offer demonstrations of kimono dressing, flower arrangement, calligraphy, tea ceremony, Koto (Japanese harp), and Japanese paper dolls. You can actually experience how to do it.
It will be held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 10:00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-3:00pm. Some months are not available, so please contact them for details.

Tea Ceremony Experience

Every Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the Narita City Tourism Association sponsors a tea ceremony experience.
Of course, first-time visitors are also welcome! If time permits, please visit the 2nd floor of Narita Tourist Pavilion during the event hours.

Kimono Try-on(Kimono dressing experience)

Both Japanese and foreign visitors are welcome! They offer a kimono dressing service for 1,000 yen (or US$8.00).
Simply choose your favorite pattern from a variety of kimonos. The staff will also help you with the difficult dressing process.
Please visit the Machikado Fureai Kan in the Omotesando every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday between 10:00 and 14:30.

Japanese confectionery making experience

NAGOMI-YONEYA, a yokan and Japanese confectionery store representing Naritasan Omotesando, offers a Japanese confectionery making class.
The content of Japanese confectionery changes with the seasons, so you can enjoy the four seasons while making Japanese confectionery.
The event will be held on the 2nd floor of the NAGOMI-YONEYA General Store, and advance registration is required. Please check the website for details.

Naritasan Shinshoji Volunteer Guide

The precincts of Naritasan Shinshoji Temple are very large and contain many cultural assets and other attractions.
These volunteer guides provide free guided tours of the temple grounds. They will assist you in touring the precincts of the temple with their wealth of knowledge.
Guide hours are from 10:00 to 15:00 daily. Visit the volunteer guide reception desk in the plaza in front of the main hall. Reservations are not required (for groups, please inquire in advance).

Guided tours for transit passengers

If you would like to sightsee Japan during your flight transit time at Narita Airport, we recommend this guided tours for transit passengers.
Departing from and arriving at Narita Airport, the 4-hour tour includes a visit to Naritasan Shinshoji Temple and a shopping and gourmet experience at Naritasan Omotesando.
If time permits, the various experiences introduced in this article can also be conducted within the tour.
Please take advantage of this service when you are in transit!
