Located in the middle of Naritasan Omotesando approach, Narita Tourist Pavilion is a building with a distinctive black tile and white wall exterior.
As soon as you enter the building, you will find a tourist information corner, which introduces Omotesando and other tourist spots in the city.

Further in the back of the building, you will find a large float that is pulled during Narita Gion Festival on display. Please take your time to see the grandeur and power of these floats up close and personal.

Machikado Fureai Kan

Walking from Narita Station, it is located just before the approach road starts to go downhill. It is a little hard to find because of its secluded location, but you can find it across from Yakushido Hall.

The indoor space is air-conditioned and has benches even on hot midsummer days, making it a perfect spot to relax after a long day of walking.

Monuments of the Twelve Zodiac Signs

As you stroll along the approach, pay attention to the twelve zodiac monuments placed on both sides of the path.
It is said to express the wish for the long-lasting health of visitors and for them to "take a leisurely stroll through Narita".
Try to find a monument that is the same as your zodiac sign. You can straddle it!

Ukiyoe

Naritasan is deeply connected with Kabuki. The approach to Naritasan is decorated with many ukiyoe paintings depicting kabuki.
There are several other exhibits and other exhibits related to Kabuki, so please refer to this map to find them.

Narita mechanism clock

This karakuri clock was donated in 2018 for the further development of Narita.
At the appointed time, the karakuri will be activated and puppets with motifs of the Gion Festival and Kabuki will appear on stage. Visitors can enjoy the stage for about 4 minutes.
It is located in the plaza in front of the station, so check it out before entering the approach.

Naritasan Yakushido Hall

It is located in the middle of the approach, just before entering the downhill slope.
It was built in 1655 as the main hall of Naritasan, on the site where the Daihondo stands today. It was moved and reconstructed at its present location in 1855 in conjunction with the reconstruction of the current main hall. As the oldest existing hall of Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, it is designated as a Tangible Cultural Property of Narita City.
Mitsukuni Mito, known as "Mito Komon," and Danjuro Ichikawa I paid homage to this hall. It is recommended to visit not only the current main hall of Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, but also this hall.

Chomeisen Well

It is located in a somewhat obscure place, so even those who have visited the temple several times may not know it.
Chomeisen, a sake brewery located on the Naritasan Omotesando approach, has a well that still bubbles over and can be viewed free of charge.

It is said that the name "Chomei-sen" also comes from this well. It is said that the name "Chomei" was derived from the stories from all over Japan that visitors to the temple would draw water from the well and return home, and that they lived very long lives thanks to the water.

Ofudosama Kyuseki Garden

From around the middle of the Muromachi period until 1566, Saburozaemon Morooka, a distant ancestor of the founder of Nagomi no Yoneya, had a statue of Fudo Myoo, the principal deity of Naritasan, installed in his residence to serve the deity.
This is the place where Fudo-sama was first relocated to Narita, and this is the garden of the former site of Fudo-sama.
This place is the origin of Narita's famous Nagomi no Yoneya and is cherished as a sacred place. It is a beautiful garden, so please stop by.

There is also a well here called "Fudo no Oido" (Great Well of Immovable). It is said that in the past, water was drawn from this well every morning and offered to the statue.

The Narita Yokan Museum, which displays the history of Nagomi no Yoneya and the roots of yokan, is open to the public free of charge.

We recommend Omikuji Yokan! You can draw a retro-style omikuji. Since the fortune is made of yokan, you can also fill up your stomach.
