Entertainment Spa "Tokyo Yurakujo" is Super Luxurious!

Did you know there's a luxurious large-scale spa resort 20 minutes by free shuttle bus from the Narita International Airport?

Currently the weekday admission fee is only 1,000 yen and weekends/holidays are 1,400 yen. This is an amazing deal.

If you have time to spare in Narita, why not have a nice, relaxing bath while you daydream about future travel destinations and reminisce on the memories you've made so far.

The Luxurious Tokyo Yurakujo

Since its inception in 2018, Tokyo Yurakujo has attracted lots of attention with its unique concept.

It has also been introduced on TV, so you may have heard of it before.

One minute you'll be in a room with European designs, and when you go to the next room it suddenly feels as if you've walked right into the Showa Era.

Each and every space is produced on a grand scale, and the eclectic feeling brings out its lavishness even more.

Until now the spa had been temporarily closed due to COVID-19, but it has reopened as of June 2021. So let's check it out.

Take the Shuttle Bus from the Airport or Station

Tokyo Yurakujo is next to the hotel "Radisson Narita."

There are free shuttle buses from the Narita International Airport and the Keisei Narita Station, so you should definitely take advantage of them. It takes about 20-30 minutes respectively.

A parking lot is also available, so you can also visit by car.

A Little Walk from the Hotel

After the shuttle bus arrives at the hotel, just follow the signs.

After crossing the well-maintained hotel garden area, you will see a parking lot lined with ukiyo-e artworks.

An Extraordinary Atmosphere Even Before Entering

As you walk towards Yurakujo, you will hear music growing louder as you approach.

The song playing is "Time to Say Goodbye."

The loud music playing in the background combined with the row house building situated imposingly on the spacious grounds make for a very unique and majestic atmosphere.

A European-Style Entrance Interior

After crossing the main bridge, you will be greeted by the staff who will take your temperature and disinfect your hands. Then you put your shoes in the shoe shelf and enter the building.

The entrance is also spectacular!

The entrance hall is extremely spacious and luxurious, which feels a bit out of balance compared to the small reception desk.

After being given an explanation, a key and a change of clothes to wear inside the facility, you head for the changing room.

The key has an IC chip in it, so anything you buy there will be recorded on the chip and paid along with the admission fee when you leave.

Start it off with a Footbath

After changing into the clothes they gave you, you pass by a planetarium-inspired footbath and enter a Showa-style area.

You can't miss the giant ceiling screen.

The dream-like images of the sea and fields of flowers will take your breath away.

Lots of Places to Relax

Although the main attraction is the bathing facilities, there are numerous ways to relax and enjoy your stay before and after taking a bath.

Let me introduce them all at once.

Restaurants

There are four dining places including a restaurant that serves rice bowl dishes and set meals, another that serves parfaits and other desserts, a Japanese-style pub, and a bar (currently closed).

All are run with a meal-ticket system, and are quite budget-friendly for this type of resort.

You can't beat this chicken and egg bowl for 850 yen.

Kids' Space

Children can play here in the Kids' Space.

People with children will definitely be pleased.

Stage

There is a stage in the middle.

There wasn't anything going on when I was there, but they sometimes have musical and dance performances on stage.

Private Rooms

There are 4 private rooms in front of the stage.

The rooms are available at an additional charge.

Multi-Purpose Hall

The multi-purpose hall is also uniquely decorated and boasts an impressive large-screen TV.

Bedrock Bath

There is also a bedrock bath to be enjoyed wearing the spa lounge wear.

Men and women can both use this area.

Capsule Hotel

The capsule hotel has been closed due to COVID-19, but usually you can spend the night there.

Rest Area

There are cubicles with curtains where you can take a rest.

Just be careful not to oversleep!

Fountain Show

You can watch a fountain show at specific times.

The fountain at the entrance dances with the music and performs a dynamic show.

It also lights up, so you should watch it at night.

Besides the things I mentioned, there is also a comic book area, massage facilities, woodworking classes, and even a shrine, so you'll never get bored!

Of course the baths are also quite big.

There is a sauna, a cypress wood bath, a cold water bath, and an open-air bath.

Thorough Anti-COVID-19 Measures

I visited here on a Sunday evening from around 5 to 7PM.

Usually that would be the most crowed time to go, but there were fewer people than I expected because of COVID-19. So it wasn't too bad.

There were hand sanitizers throughout, and I got the impression that they had adequate prevention measures in place.

Limited Time Offer! Under Half-Price on Weekdays!

Tokyo Yurakujo has many services and the interior is uniquely designed, but now because of COVID-19, the admission fee is only 1,000 yen on weekdays and 1,400 on weekends and holidays.

Normally, admission would cost 2,500 yen, so this sure is a steal.

It's a great place to drop by during your travels or stopovers. I also think it's worth coming to Narita just to visit Yurakujo.
